You’ve Been Booed!

Actually, Mr. President, it is you who was booed.

On Sunday, Trump attended the World Series Game 5 in D.C. played by the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals. Typically, the president throws the first ceremonial pitch, but Trump declined claiming that he didn’t want to disrupt fans getting to the park. After the third inning, the jumbo screens zoomed in on the president, first lady and their GOP entourage officially announcing their attendance. Smiling and waving, Trump and team probably expected everyone to bow down to him, as only hours before, he had announced the killing of Islamic State leader al Baghdadi. Instead, he was booed by a crowd wearing red caps (not Trump’s red cap) who chanted, “Lock him up!” I don’t think it’s often the president gets a dose of reality from real people in the real world, but here you have it. Look at the change in his facial expression when he realizes what’s happening.

I cant believe I’m saying this, but watching this, I feel kind of sorry for Trump. I know he’s a lying, cheating, selfish criminal and a piss poor excuse for a human, but at the end of the day he IS human and I think so much of his assholish behavior comes from a place of deep insecurity. I can’t imagine being booed by so many people, on national television no less. I know we reap what we sow…. but my empathetic side sees the lost and unloved child in him.

But then I remember he slaughtered the Kurds; separated families and put children in cages; tried to deport fatally ill immigrants to countries where they will die; and has committed so many other atrocities while in office that my heart hardens. I guess that’s the Law of Attraction in action: you get back what you put out there… a cold, unforgiving heart.
